Bradley Foundation Board's Interesting Directors

When researching the Mosinee-based Wausau Paper Co.- -  a firm closing a mill at the cost of 450 jobs in the 300-person Village of Brokaw - - I noted that San Orr, the company board chair (departing in 2012) was also on the Board of Directors of the conservative Bradley Foundation.

The Bradley Foundation, located in Milwaukee, is one of the country's most influential financiers of right-wing ideas, causes and individuals, as the Journal Sentinel recently cataloged.

But I was unaware that conservative columnist George Will is also on the board. I'd missed that.

The plant closing in Brokaw, WI, highlights the power imbalance between people at the top of the corporate and political world and others in the rest of the 99% who, in this case, live in a company town and whose lives can be upended by decisions influenced by a far-away hedge fund.

That argument is here.
