Big Thinker Steve Nass Has His Donald Trump Moment

Remember The Donald and his stereotyping observation about "the blacks?"

Say hello to State Rep. Steve Nass, (R-Whitewater), Wisconsin legislative embarrassment, as he complains about "the Indians."

Nass has a penchant for blundering around public policy-making - - who could forget his attack on European-style bike lane safety markers as liberal extremism - - but in the Walker era, Nass is the State Assembly go-to guy on University of Wisconsin reform.

Where we might just see some real extremism from another direction.

Imagine the joy that Osseo-Fairchild, Kewaunee, and Mukwonago will feel if this legislation passes: they can now go back to using their old mascot names, after racking up expensive legal bills (in the cases of Osseo-Fairchild and Mukwonago), after the hassle and expense of changing the name on flags, banners, athletic clothing, letterhead, signage, perhaps even a gym floor or two. . . . what fun that was! Let's do it again! Thank you, Steve Nass!

To say nothing of the positive PR our school can generate by going back to a mascot that now has been deemed legally racist.

Yea, let's focus on this big issue for another 5 years--academics will take care of itself.
