Home rule?

Local control?

Will of the people.

Walker & Co. know better, they say.

James,

Let's be honest here. There was bi-partisan opposition to this bill. Barrett was even opposed to it. There was no funding for enforcement and it created a playing field that tilted business away from Milwaukee. Not to mention it was a logistical nightmare to track the days. Ie: a business in Brookfield would have to track sick days for an employee who was working some days in Milwaukee and other days outside the city.

Overall, it was a poorly written ordinance with no financial support or even an ability to enforce it.

Glad that there was such bipartisan opposition to the original ordinance, Milwaukee will be better off because of it.

Although you get an A for effort in trying to solely blame the republicans.

That wasn't his point at all. Which of course you know. (Let's be honest here)

This post is about the traditional Republicans and the Tea Party aficionados who orchestrated this "Bigger Government" knock down of a local law (be it flawed, wonderful, or bat-shit crazy is not the point oh RedHerringMeister)

Repugs and Teas are CONSTANTLY talking about the beauty and constitutionality of local control, yet when that same local control runs counter to Rep-Tea ideological agendas, suddenly clobbering local control is okay.

They are cherry-picking from amongst their own cherished ideals, acting like Dirty Libs at will.
