Energizing The Democratic Base - - Politics 101

I'm glad to see Bill Clinton and both the Obamas out campaigning for Democrats. They can counteract the onslaught of outside ad money and stop this nonsense about an "enthusiasm gap."

Republicans are running candidates this fall - - Johnson, Walker, Brewer, Rubio, Angle, O'Donnell, Paladino - - who in any other election cycle would be hooted off the stage as flawed, inexperienced and downright extreme.

That Scott Walker can pose as competent enough to be a Governor when the County he 'manages' is facing bankruptcy is Saturday Night Live material, as is Ron Johnson's proclamation that "details" don't matter as he pitches himself as US Senate-worthy.

Democrats have superior candidates and a strong narrative to promote and it's good that they are fighting back in the pivotal, home stretch.

Too bad the Democrats are not fighting back better, though.
