Another Use For County Grounds: An Electric Substation

First it was the Zoo Interchange project that would further surround the area with concrete, traffic, noise and dust.

Then it was UWM's Engineering and Innovation complex, with parking lots and streets planned for the County Grounds.

Waukesha wants to pipe into Underwood Creek the city's treated wastewater.

Now it's a proposed We Energy/ATC electricity transmission facility - - information here.

From the ATC website:

"Project overview
We Energies and American Transmission Co. are proposing an electric system reinforcement project. It involves the construction of a new We Energies substation adjacent to the existing Milwaukee County Substation and Milwaukee County Power Plant at 93rd Street and Watertown Plank Road. American Transmission Co., owner and operator of the high-voltage electric transmission system in the Upper Midwest, is proposing to build an approximately 2-mile, 138,000-volt transmission line to serve thenew We Energies substation."

Is this the vision that Tosa and the County Board want for its city and the County Grounds?
