NY Times Columnist Bob Herbert Is 2010 Kastenmeier Lecturer At UW-Madison

The annual Kastenmeier Lecture this fall scores a major media speaker.

New York Times columnist Bob Herbert will give the annual lecture named after former US Rep. Bob Kastenmeier on Thursday, October 21 at 4 PM at the UW-Madison Law School, Godfrey and Kahn Hall, Room 2260.

The title of Herbert's lecture is "Afghanistan: What Are We Fighting For?"

Explaining his topic, Herbert (bio and columns, here) said:

"In addition to its physical and psychological toll on American service members, the nearly-decade long war in Afghanistan is undermining efforts to fully engage the nation's most serious domestic problems."
