Does UWM Land Deal On County Grounds Help Scott Walker Fill A Budget Hole?

Does the rush in Wauwatosa City Hall to approve a $12 million taxpayer-financed infrastructure loan for the proposed UWM engineering and innovation complex on the County Grounds - - a key step to set the whole project in motion - - then trigger the transfer of $13.5 million in land sale proceeds to the County from UWM so that Scott Walker can add the money to his last, 'no-tax-increase' budget?

We're about 10 weeks from the approval of the 2011 County Budget.

Just asking.

In a word, no. All it will do is keep the 2010 budget's deficit from growing by that much more. Walker had already budgeted that money for this year. If the deal fell through, the 2010 county deficit would have been closer to $35 top 40 million.
