Bruce Murphy Posts About Waukesha Water Politics

Here's his posting. I put up a comment.

By the way, I think the item's headline, "Waukesha Water Deal Dead" is an overstatement.

We've all been around enough government projects and initiatives that look dead and defeated or too complicated to ever fly (Health Care Reform, Miller Park, the Downtown Streetcar) only to be resurrected with changes previously unforeseen that give all the parties some satisfaction and cover.

On the other hand, Bruce may be right, and if the Great Lakes states approve the application after the DNR's fixes are edited in, the supply deal may be done with Racine or Oak Creek, with added costs to someone, presumably Waukesha, in the $25-$75 million range for longer pipes, infrastructure improvements, and even bigger dollars if a discharge route other than Underwood Creek (serving the Milwaukee option only) involves a direct pipe to the MMSD.

We'll see.

Just my opinion.

Wow, Bruce said that?

It's almost brilliant!
