High-Speed Rail Stop Closer To The Capitol To Be Announced Today

State and local officials will announce today a station close to the Capitol Square for the projected Midwest High Speed Train.

The first plan had the stop at the Madison airport, which would have limited its Milwaukee-Madison traffic.

Many rail advocates, including this blog, had urged the downtown stop as an alternative.

Good that this is being resolved, but backers of the plan shot themselves in the foot with the airport station concept.
