Climate Change Bill Worth The Fight

The spreading contamination in the Gulf of Mexico is the wake-up call (somehow three wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait didn't do it) the nation needs to begin to move us away from such dependence on oil.

That's what's at stake as the Senate begins to debate the energy and climate bill.

Interestingly enough the Deepwater Horizon spill is what will prevent any possibility of passing your “Tax, Cap, and Tax Some More” bill.

Passage was going to depend on making some concessions on off-shore oil drilling - which is obviously moot now.

So this is all politics as the only reason the Dems are still pushing for this legislation now is a lame attempt to use it as a campaign issue.

But it will never even come close to a full vote, giving cover to the few Dems still running for re-election who wanted no part of voting on this job killing bill.
