What Portion Of The Right's Obama-Nobel Mocking Has A Racial Connotation?

Just an opinion and impression, but I'd put the factor around a third to a half, at least, and I would put the percentage even higher when it comes to the so-called Birther movement.

Sample, here, where the word "joke" is the theme.

Or from Virginia, where a GOP Lt. Governor candidate is playing to the Macaca faction.

The Birthers do not believe Obama was born in the US and is therefore holding office illegitimately.

In other words, Obama, the ultimate outsider, just can't really be President.

Deep down, there is a percentage of Americans that just cannot accept a Black President, and the unwillingness now extends to some who see Obama also unworthy of receiving a prestigious international accolade - - that came to him unsolicited.

How about putting the figure at 100% racist for the Birthers?

That would not surprise me.

After all they are an extremist kook fringe group that most people have rightfully ignored, yet appears to provide you endless fascination James.

Not sure what the relevance of it being "unsolicited" is, of course no one campaigned for Obama to win it seeing as he hasn't done anything to deserve it.

We all know the only reason he won it was simply because he is the anti-Bush, guess that was qualification enough for the 5 Norwegian politicians who awarded the Peace prize to him.

Btw have to say I am disappointed you played the race card James.

Although I suppose I should give you a modicum of credit for holding back for 2 days before doing so.

Having to restrain yourself for that long must have been killing you.

Let's play around with the presented question: What portion of the decision to award Mr Obama has a racial connotation? Just a thought.

But seriously, this is doing him no good. Could he in fact refuse it?

Their have been some over-tones. What strikes more peculiar is that the peace prize is so short of credible candidates. Far more candidates for the use of force.

Refusing the award would be a mistake. I think Obama struck the right tone.

And I was not playing the race card. I was playing the reality card.

So your "opinion and impression" is now everyone's reality?

Gotcha Jimmy Carter.

Anon Jim - you're a strange one.

Dunno how much criticism of Obama's award was race-based or not. The choice was surprising for sure, and surprises elicit a wide range of reactions. But no doubt much of the right's "indignation," or whatever it is, is simply sour grapes.

Was the $20K fine enough? Maybe when Taitz becomes a real lawyer she will appreciate what just happened. I wonder if she is a mail order bride, just like her law degree? She is perfect reporter material for “Fake News”, where unfounded rumors and innuendo reign supreme , unlike a our US courts of law, where you need to present facts, not half baked lies (get ready for more defeats). After several times of flying into the lights, flies get burned, Taitz just got burned, thing is, she will continue, no end in sight. Poor Birthers they hate and can’t debate.

A lawyer, dentist, realtor, black belt, I must say she is a Jack of all trade master of none.

I believe Paul is referring to this:

Update to my previous comment about James' proclamation about how Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize reflected how "the rest of the world" felt was really the reflection of 5 lutefisk sucking Norwegian politicians.

Turns out it was actually only 2 lutefisk sucking Norwegian politicians per the following:

Majority of Nobel jury 'objected to Obama prize'

He was selected inspite the shortage of any other viable candidate. What were the other choices? So far i have found an artist from Macedonia. Anybody know the rest? If 3/5 were against, how was he selected?

Per the following, there were a record number of 205 different nominees for the 2009 Noble Peace prize.

And Brute' - am loathe to correct your posting since I could do that for almost every posting you make, but your usage of the word "inspite" would appear to be the exact opposite of what you meant.

And your question about how could Obama win the prize if 3 of the 5 judges were personally against the decision of the panel underlines your recurring lack of understanding of politics.

And make no mistake about it, this was a political decision and award.

Anon Jim; Your link does nothing to inform me whom the other candidates were. As for your epiphany that it was a political decision, what is'nt? Whom would you have selected? For as much as i enjoy learning new things, your recurring retoric is minus solution. Just what is it about politics you don't think I understand?
