Rail Clicking Along...Elsewhere

When I was a kid growing up in Washington, DC, the notion of a city subway system was a dream.

Now the Metro could find its stations linked by a separate train system, the Purple Line, for which campaign-style signs have sprouted in neighborhoods in the Maryland suburbs and on lawns within walking distance of the only home my parents ever owned in Somerset, near the District line.

Part of a national rail trend, though still stymied in Wisconsin - - but achievable if federal stimulus funding coming our way is invested properly.
