UW's Booze-Driven Humiliation Might Finally Get Officials' Attention

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk has been a persistent voice for alcohol moderation that is too often drowned out in a capital city that revels in a boozy reputation fed by highly-publicized parties street parties and an excessively adolescent fascination with over-consumption.

But now the UW band's in toto suspension for what appears to be alcohol-fueled misconduct might be enough of an embarrassment to further push the UW to get more serious about behavior that is endangering lives as well as reputations.

Let's hope.
